jkeller527 Posted May 21, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 21, 2010 I am wondering advice in the New England and Canada area how to see the colors. I know the actual ship wont get that close so was wondering how to get to the best areas to view. Would we see any doing the hop on hop of. Jan_In_Maine Posted May 22, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 22, 2010 Where in New England are you going? What time period are you going? If you will be in Bar Harbor - the best way to see color is to do a tour of Acadia National Park. Jan
jkeller527 Posted May 24, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted May 24, 2010 This is NCL and does Canado Boston and Newport. No Bar harbor this time
SailBadtheSinner Posted May 24, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 24, 2010 The only way to see color in Newport would be to be on deck as the cruise ship enters Narragansett Bay as it makes it way to the anchorage in the East Passage off Newport. Peak foliage color doesn't reach coastal RI until the 3rd week in October, on average. In Newport, most trees are along city streets or in the grounds surrounding the mansions.
