So its been a good weekend. Gators got by with a big win, I enjoyed the Auburn/Clemson game last night, and now we are about to sit down for the main event....Peyton vs Eli. She loves Eli, I'm a Peyton guy, but I've always been a Giants fan, so its tough to pick. Just looking forward to a good game.:D

deej696 I will pass the message on. Sean will be glad to hear that. We will have to make sure he does not burn him self out at WDW in November-December. He is a Deejay, member of a band, publishes his own books (cartoons) 2 I think and is working on his next. He is also a avid outdoorsman. Show him a mountain and he will climb it. His cruise experience has been on HAL and he usually hung out with the show troupe who were close to his age.

Sounds like we will get along just fine:) What sort of work is he doing at WDW?

Wow, it's great to be picking up newcomers -- welcome to all.

Today's Texans/Redskins game almost killed me. So many mistakes on both sides, yet it's a miracle the Texans came away with a win! Believe it or not, it's our very first overtime win.

So the Longhorns eked out a victory, and the Texans walked away a winner. Good weekend!

Lisa, yes the Jubilee was my very first cruise about 11 years ago. I didn't have any idea in the world of what I was doing but got lucky. I know she is small and old, but we had a wonderful time sailing on a small ship the first time. Our cabin must have been right by the anchor because I have never in all the cruises I have taken since then experienced such clanging and banging. But we were so tired from being excited and being into everything on the ship that we didn't even care. We sailed her later out of Galveston on a Western Caribbean cruise, and it was also the first cruise for two of my sons. I was sad to see her go overseas (I think she went to Asia?).

It was great to see the Gators beat Tennessee. I am at a disadvantage since my wife and her entire family is from Tennessee. So I can smile one more year when we go there for the holidays and of course wear my GATOR shirts.......:)

Yeah I bet its been an unhappy 6 years at family gatherings for them:) We are going to Disney for the Food and Wine festival in two weeks, and Meg is running the half marathon. I just realized we play Alabama that Saturday, so I may have to make my way to ESPN while she prepares for her run:D

You guys can start bashing me now, but I'm a DWTS fan... can't wait to see spray tans, skimpy outfits, cruise-type music tonight...:D

Mary

Mary, I will be watching too! It is more entertaining than Monday Night Football :D

No bashing here Mary, I'm a DWTS junkie too.... Lisa

I must admit I watch to see just who they think is still a star and secretly watch for the fumble. I am well known for 2 left feet and am amazed at what a coach and time can create. Costume malfuntion anyone? Yessss, still a closet fan!

LOL

Jan, I agree. I took ballet and tap dancing lessions for years and I think that is why I am so amazed at what they can do! There were only 2 that did awful last night.....

Hey!?

I can't remember if I saw any discusion here about booking the week in the Sanctuary. With the cooler northern temps, does anyone think it will be a value added investment. I thought not having to fight off absent lounge chair squatters and coping with splashing, noisy pool gamers might be nice. I was annoyed  on my last cruise by cruise director shouting excited announcements around the pool along with the high traffic.

I've never tried this even for a day. Has anyone experienced this venue on past trips? Feedback would be welcome!

Jan

I have been curious about the Sanctuary but never booked it. I know that I won't be using the pool on this trip - only the hot tubs if I can find space :)

I may look into the Sanctuary a bit more....

I thought about doing the Sanctuary on the day we go into Glacier as supposedly there is a naturalist specifically for guests in that area. But everything I've read makes it sound like the area is circled in green glass, thus taking away from the views. Not to mention the temps.

I've never really been a "Deck" guy, in that I spend the vast majority of sea time on our balcony...or the casino:) I just prefer the serenity of the balcony over the madhouse that is the lido deck. Granted, I've only done Caribbean, where baking yourself in the sun is a priority for many. I prefer the shade and a book...or in this case binoculars;)

Too cold even if they have heaters on for Sanctuary. And I am from Canada!!! Getting ready to receive our 17 month old Grandson Dimitri for a couple of days. Still in the planning stages for our next vacation to Central Florida in November-December. What a greaat assist Skyauction is. Have already picked up Airboat rides and MurderMystery Theatre through them at a fraction of the cost. Also found out they have Logans Roadhouse within 2 miles of where we will be staying. Fell in Love with Logans when we were in Corpus Cristi two years ago. Will watch the Golden leave Victoria on Friday for the last time this year. When it returns we will be on it.:)

We used the Sanctuary for 1 day while going through the Panama Canal on the Coral Princess last December and really enjoyed it. Though it was a spur of the moment thing. It was really hot that day and we had shaded lounge chairs, water and food, while also having a great place to view all the action. There was no glass in the way of our viewing.

We have also been thinking about using the Sanctuary during Glacier Bay. Lisa

How about a nice picture of the Golden in Ketchikan.....as we approached on the Oosterdam :)

What a lovely site! Thanks for posting the picture!!! I can't wait till May.

I too thought the sanctuary had glass enclosures on the side to protect from wind? Is this not true? Does anyone have a photo of the sanctuary on the Golden now that it's been added?

Thanks! Katherine

I went and looked at the dry dock pictures of the Golden and yes it does looks like it is glass enclosed. It is a whole lot bigger than the Coral, which was only a very small place that was stuck on a back deck. After seeing the pictures, I don't plan on going there for Glacier viewing. Lisa
