Tendering Question

Hello,

DH and I have signed up for a privately run tour in the Falkland Islands February 2011 and the tour operator has asked us to try to get on the first tender to maximize the time available for the tour. This is our first cruise on Celebrity, so I don't know how the tendering system works. If we get to the tender line early, can we secure a place on the first tender, or will passengers in suites, those who have status with Celebrity, and those who have purchased tours through Celebrity be able to get off first? Any suggestions?

You have described the situation pretty well. That being said, go to the place where the tender tickets will be issued extra early so you will be on the first tender used after the ship's tours participants are called. The island is not large, so you should have plenty of time to see it all even if you aren't first. And not to be too much of a downer, but there are such rough seas in that area, that sometimes ships aren't able to make this scheduled port of call.
