pirate52 Posted May 26, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2010 I have seen posts that indicate the Freedom of the Seas has the strictest smoking policy of all RCCL ships. I would like to hear from a smoker that has returned from a Freedom cruise to get the real scoop. Here is where I think you can smoke: Starboard side 12th deck Sky bar 12th deck Part of the Olive or Twist lounge Starboard side 4th deck Casino bar Cigar club Crypt - 4th deck only Cabin balconies Where this differs from ships like the Navigator is that they also allow smoking on: Starboard side of 11th deck Pub in the promenade - inside only Outside the casino at the beginning of the Schooner bar One side of Boleros lounge We cruise on the October 24th sailing of the Freedom and would really like to know where you can go. Thanks for any help.

You are 100% correct, on the western the 2nd formal night is also teen disco night, so both the casino bar and the crypt are off limits to smokers!!:(

fritzi Posted May 27, 2010 #10 Share Posted May 27, 2010 Hello, I was on the Freedom of the Seas last year in April and smoking was allowed inside the Pub on the Royal Promenade among other places. We are going out on the Liberty of the Seas in November and I hope they have the same smoking areas, at least. Does anyone have the information on the Liberty of the Seas smoking policy. They are sister ships so I assume its the same. Thanks.

On the Liberty in Feb you could smoke in the pub on the Royal Promenade, the Casino except non smoking night, Boleros and Viking Crown (or called Olive and Twist now I believe)
fritzi Posted May 27, 2010 #12 Share Posted May 27, 2010 Thanks for the information Molly. I hope they don't change the policy. November is a long way off and I'll keep my fingers crossed. LOL.
NittanyLioness Posted May 27, 2010 #13 Share Posted May 27, 2010 On Freedom this past May, smoking was NOT allowed at the Casino Bar, but was allowed at the tables.... For a convenient (quiet) smoke, walk out of the Casino and go to the Crypt (Upper Level)...There is usually an ashtray on one or two of the tables!
