euro cruiser Posted May 29, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 29, 2010 It's a long trip for a day, but it can be done. Most of the trains are regionals that take about two hours and make around 14 stops. Some require a change at La Spezia, but it's easy enough to get one without a change. There are also a few intercity trains each day, which take only a little over an hour each way, but the times are not very good for a day trip. These trains make only four stops along the route. flcruiselovers Posted May 31, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 31, 2010 Has anyone taken the train from Pisa to Monterosso and back in one day? If so what is the trip like? When are you going? My wife and I are planning a day trip from lavorno off the NCL Jade on June 8. We will take a train to La Spezia and connect to local train that goes to all 5 towns of cinque tierra. Also considering renting a car at the port and driving to La Spezia..
