Hyatt Pier 66 Fort Lauderdale

The quick answer is nothing. Hyatt 66 is about 1/2 mile away from the action on 17th St. Sort of secluded. It's right at the bridge on the Intracoastal.

On the property they have their own grill at the marina and it's really nice if you want to have casual cocktails and a burger or grouper sandwich.

There's a water taxi stop at Pier 66 and the water taxi will take you to 15th St. Fisheries, a place I like. They have two restaurants, Dockside, which is more casual, and Upstairs, which is more formal and expensive. They're known for a lovely salad with nuts and strawberries.

The water taxi also goes to Charlies Crab and The Las Olas Riverfront, which also have some nice places to explore.

The ride is nice, especially in the evening at dusk.

You should have a ball!

As stated, the water taxi is the way to go...not only for restaurants and nice shopping, but to see the entire FLL waterway system. It's fun and interesting. 15.00 will buy you an all day-night pass!

You really don't need to walk to anything. It's a great place to relax and there are 2 restaurants on the property. There is a convenience store across the street. If you can walk 4-6 blocks you can get to Walgreens and a few restaurants.

We stayed there last spring break for a few nights precruise. We walked several times across the bridge to the 17th St. stores and eateries. There are great views from the bridge. There is also a "trolley" that stops right in front. We took the city bus up past the beach area to a nice mall and back.

The casual grill along the water way was the only disappointment. They were totally overwhelmed and we never got served after waiting about 40 minutes. Other than that the service and hotel was really nice. Try to get a tower room.
