We booked the cruise but forgot to ask for the ground transfers to be included with the package. Should we call the agent to added on the package or just take the cab from the airport? We are party of 3. Someone told us RCCL charge round trip ground transfer for $20/pp.

There are two docking areas in San Juan, and if the ship is at the one that's further away, you're better off with the ship's transfers. The Adventure was docked at the closer port, and the taxi charge was $17 for us. Make sure the taxi has enough room for three people and the luggage. A regular taxi can't handle more than three big bags.

Bill is right. DW and I have been cruising from San Juan for years. We have never purchased the cruise tranfers. A cab is so much more convenient, not to mention, no waiting for other pax to board the bus. Taking a cab will also expeditie your check-in process too. We find a cab is the best way to go. It definitely cuts back on any waiting, and its less expensive.

When you exit the AP w/ your luggage there will be a huge taxi line. Your best bet is to send one person to stand in that line immediately & the other 2 to get the luggage. The people working the line will ask how many in your party & how much luggage; they'll get you a taxi that fits. They have a few mini-vans for larger groups.

The fee is per ride plus $1 per bag not per person like RCCL charges. Even w/ tip, no matter the pier, he taxi will be cheaper.

Enjoy.
