ftrplt Posted June 19, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 19, 2010 Dear Friends, my wife and I are considering taking the above trip starting January 14, 2011. If anyone has taken this trip, could you let us know how close you come to shore while cruising the Atlantic Ocean, Drake Passage, Deception Island, Paradise Bay and the Chilean Fjords and if there are any special sights or places of interest you might see while cruising? Thank you, Ftrplt:confused:
carpdiem1 Posted August 8, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 8, 2010 I am also considering this cruise, but curious if there are other single cruisers signed up.

digby Posted August 8, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 8, 2010 We took that cruise in the opposite direction and we were quite close to shore along Chile as far as the tip of S. America and Antarctica. You actually enter Deception Island. It was a wonderful trip!
phoebe and parker Posted August 11, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 11, 2010 we took this trip a few years ago and enjoyed it very much. you will see LOTS OF PENGUINS. falkland islands has one of the best liittle bakeries around if you take a private jeep excursion. our captain went around the drake passage as the seas were way too rocky. you do get to see a lot of coastline . tryh to stay in santiago at the end of the cruise, it's a beautiful city. phoebe and parker
