Kid's Menu Question

Recommended Posts

We're thinking of taking a huge family cruise and would have two kids (3 and 6) with us. Both are picky eaters but would be fine with kids meal options like mac and cheese or chicken fingers. Does anyone know where the kids menu is available? Is it just in the main dining room? If we all wanted to go to Chops Grille or something, is there something that young kids might be able to eat there?

The children's menu is only available in the main dining room...

If you take the children to Chops, you will need to pay the full price for each of them and they will have to select from the regular menu, unless one of the waiters is kind enough to ggo to the dining room and get something else for them (highly unlikely). If you bring children to Chops, you will need to make your reservation for any time prior to 7:00 PM. ;)

They state that kids under 13 aren't really welcome in the specialty restaurants....although, they will let you take them very early in the evening....before the "adult clientele" start coming in....

I'd feed them in the WJ, then take them to AO for the evening, while you all have a nice, relaxing dinner.

Please get your facts straight before stating incorrect information. Following is the direct quote from the Royal Caribbean website regarding this issue:

"All guests 13 and over are welcome and may be booked on-line. Children under 13 years may book only before 7 p.m. but must be booked onboard; based on availability and total party size. After 7 p.m. children under the age of 13 are not allowed. All guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian."

They don't always enforce this rule though, at least they weren't on our recent Serenade sailing. We had no less than 3 screaming kids under age 10 in Chops during our dinner there and it was well after 7 p.m.

Been to chops a dozen times or so , always taken the kids .Ages range from 6 to 15 , the 2 youngest not interested in the menu , never been a problem in them having something brought from the main dining room .Also it's not a case of kids not been welcome , they just have to be in at an earlier time ,such as the first sitting in the main dining room
