JFK or LGA - Which is closer to Manhattan Terminal?

Flying in and need to know which is closer to the Manhattan Terminal, JFK or LaGuardia? Also if you have any hotel suggestions that would be reasonably close to the terminal.

LGA is closest at 9 miles, then comes EWR at 14 and JFK at 22.

By CAB its about $35 from LGA, $70 from EWR and $60 from JFK(tolls and tips included).

 

Any hotel in Manhattan is reasonable close.

LGA is closer...but if you can find a much cheaper fare using JFK you should consider it.

 

It would be helpful to know your hotel budget and even when you're traveling in order for people to make sensible hotel recommendations.

ditto LGA- for me: JFK is the land that time forgot I try not to use that airport unless its international. I always had bad luck with JFK-go figure
