? About making payments...

How does it work for making payments? How much do you have to put down? Do they have a minimum of how much to pay? Or can you pay when ever you want? If someone could let me know I would appreciate it. I am leaning towards the Hawaii trip in 2011. Thanks Jo

Your deposit depends on how long the cruise is and whether or not you've purchased their travel insurance.

For a 5 day plus insurance (for the 2 of us) our deposit was $498.

After that, you can make payments in any increment you like up until the final payment date.

BTW, you can find out exactly what your deposit would be by doing a "mock booking" (just go through the steps on the website as if you WERE booking, but don't put in the payment info) and it'll tell you exactly what your deposit will need to be.

Yes, the Hawaii trips are over 10 days, so those are $400pp...somebody mentioned they just booked themselves in a balcony room with a $400 deposit and will add her daughter later and pay the other $400. This was for the Hawaii/ Apr 2012 trip.

Open yourself a vacation savings account and start putting money into it...better you get the interest on the money (though little it is), than making payments to Carnival. That way when final payment is due, hopefully you will have enough money saved and then some....good luck
