moonwalkmama Posted July 6, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2010 Good Afternoon...We are cruising in Sept 2010 to GC and looking for a Catamaran Snorkel tour. There is one from the ship but I would really like to find a private tour company.. The one from the ship is called Deluxe Sail, Snorkel and Beach Party with a 65 ft. sail catamaran. . I have seen info on Moby Dick Tours or Native Tours.. Any info would be greatly appreciated . Thanks.. Kim : }
Captain Carnival Posted July 12, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 12, 2010 Deluxe Sail, Snorkel and Beach Party with a 65 ft. sail catamaran. I may (or may not) be mistaken, but as I recall this might be "Don Fosters" operation which is listed on the CCL excursion list. I did it last year and it was very good! If you want stingrays and snorkeling, you might like Stingray Sailing. It's $45/person on a cat to Stingray City and the nearby reefs. There were 25 people on our tour, all from our ship (Freedom of the Seas). We lived being on a sailboat with so few people, and we have rebooked for our trip on the Freedom next year. Just booked this yesterday for our cruise in December. I believe the max number of people is 29 and there were 28 open spots when I booked the 4 of us yesterday. I recommend the "Full" day excursion: http://www.captainmarvins.com/stingraycitytours-snorkeloverview.html These are his boats: http://www.captainmarvins.com/stingraycitytours-ourboats.html I much prefer the smaller boats opposed to the larger Cattle Call cats. louisianacruisers Posted July 24, 2010 #7 Share Posted July 24, 2010 :) We were on the FOS in June and used Stingray Sailing with Captain Chip on a catamaran. We were very satisfied.
Kim.cc Posted July 24, 2010 #8 Share Posted July 24, 2010 I have been on Captain Marvins and its a nice tour but I don't belive he has any Catamarans. Here are two Catamarans, The Buccaneer Catamaran: http://caribbeanshoretours.com/BuccaneerStingrayCity.htm The Hannibal Catamaran: http://caribbeanshoretours.com/StingrayCityTour.htm There is Red sail too but its super pricey and years ago we did one on another catamaran, Captain Cozby or something liike that, but I wouldn't recommend it. We almost missed the trip trying to find the boat.
