Another Passanger Vessel Act ?

Recommended Posts

Unfortunately there are many on-line travel agencies that employ people that at best have taken maybe one cruise some have never even taken a cruise.

In other words, their employees are about as likely to be experienced travelers as those order-takers staffing the average brick & mortar agency.

The train is operated by Amtrak and is called the "Cascades". You can leave Seattle at 7:40am and arrive in Vancouver, BC in plenty of time to transfer to the ship. I'm sure the secenery is great. There are also bus connections available. Check www.amtrak.com

I've taken the Cascades to Vancouver so many times I have lost count. It is easy and I've always gotten there on time. From the train station, it is only 3 stops on the Sky Train to get to the pier.

Thanks everyone!

I am working on Plan B. I will probably ending up flying into Vancouver.

I have done the Seattle to Vancouver Shuttle.

I have no worry about getting there.

I just don't want to get there and have a problem.

Now to the Westcoast

how can they offer a cruise from LA to San Fran? Read about it on one of these threads. 3 day cruise.
Have an American flagged and manned vessel. The PVSA says:

No foreign vessels shall transport passengers between ports or places in the United States, either directly or by way of a foreign port, under a penalty of $200 (now $300) for each passenger so transported and landed.

Is it CruiseWest that you were reading about?

I just wanted to update everyone on my status.

Sent an e-mail to my travel agent on Saturday to cancel the one day Cruise from Seattle to Vancouver.

Received my full refund this morning and change of confirmation.

Many thanks to all of you especially Middle-Aged-Mom

I don't know what I would have done had I not posted to these boards and got stuck in Vancouver not being able to go to Hawaii.

The topic can be put to bed until the next person asks.

This law can be a real headache and hard to understand.

Thanks So Much for your input!

Gail
