What time does the Veendam usually get back into Manhattan at and what time can people start disembarking? Also, are there plenty of taxi's there?

She usually gets back in about 7 AM. There are plenty of taxis there.

 

Once the ship clears -- then disembarktion can begin -- anywhere from 7:30 - 8:30 for the self-disembarkation passengers followed by the others.

 

Do not plan on a flight until after NOON.

I used the self disembarkation last Sunday getting off the Vendaam and it went well. I got there early on Deck 5 (around 7:15) and we started getting off around 7:35. There are plenty of cabs available but beware of them. I go to NY often so I have an idea of how much a cab ride will cost me. I got in and the guy had not started his meter and he told me that his GPS was not opened yet so he would do me a "favor" and charge me a flat rate of 10$ to take me to my hotel around Columbus circle. I told him that a ride to there costs less than 10$ so he started mumbling that I would have to wait for his GPS to open...yeah right....the cab ride cost 6$! Don't be afraid to speak up and don't accept ride from anyone except legitimate cabs.
