Naughty room??

Oh, I am sure to say I have been called down there. My wife had a collapsable hiking stick in her luggage. I got called down to the security office, and asked numerous times if I had a knife in my luggage. I kept telling them there wasn't a knife in our luggage. After being escorted down to the warehouse where luggage is checked and again being asked a couple of time about a knife. I see that it is my wife's luggage and a woman asks. Do you have a sword in your luggage? I said right away that I knew what they were seeing. I open the luggage and open up this hiking stick, and they look at it. I told them what it was and why we had it and they simply said, Ok. I was back on my way to the ship. I got some great picture from down on the pier, and a funny story to tell for a long time.

If they can open your luggage, do they just open and remove the "offending item"? A corkscrew, for instance, would they just dispose of that and you'd figure it out when you got your luggage? I guess I haven't cruised since they've started cracking down on stuff - just trying to figure out if I might be risking the "naughty room" with anything I'm planning to pack!!

They will also take people that don't have their documents in order(hold up the line), talking on their cell phone while checking in(not paying attention), didn't complete your pre-reg and your name is on 'the list'.....may not be the same naughty room but I have seen people pulled asside and delayed for these reasons.

I have seen several posts referencing a “naughty Room”.

Like I was called down to the naughty room

May I ask what is this room ???

Hello BigBob. I've not heard that term yet. Perhaps it's the room they put the children in who misbehave like the ones in the elevator movie!

On our first cruise several years ago (and honeymoon) we were so clueless. My DH took a photo of me up on the "topless" adults only deck (no, I was not topless) and someone came about a half hour later to take him to the "naughty room". Photo taking was not allowed up on that deck for the protection of other women passengers (DUH!!:o)

Later that week, my poor DH messed up again by bringing a formal night photo taken of us over to show me where I was sitting outside the photo viewing area. We were both viewing our photo when they came to get him again! Of course, they thought we were stealing the photo:eek:.

We learned a LOT on that cruise.......the HARD way!

They do, and then they put a letter inside telling you they have removed it. My friend had his beer and wine removed, but returned to him on the last night on his recent Splendor sailing.

There is nothing wrong with bringing a corkscrew.
