Does anyone like oceanview cabins?

It seems it is book a balcony or just stay home. We have an OV- C booked on the Liberty and I am getting cold feet. IS there anyone out there with a good word for Oceanviews? I thought they were bigger..more space.

I had an OV on my Liberty cruise in February and loved it. As previous poster said, you get the daylight and a view without paying for a balcony. We loved our cabin so much we booked the exact same OV for our Liberty cruise in 2011! Enjoy!

All but one of our cruises have been oceanview cabins. We enjoy them very much.

Our last cruise was a balcony because we had a good deal, balcony for oceanview price. I do like the balcony, but for we will probably remain with the oceanviews on future cruises.

Plus, if this is your first cruise, then you won't be too spoiled when shopping for the second one! :)

For our first cruise we changed our minds at the last minute and went from an OV to a balcony. It was wonnnnderful, but I bet we'd have an extra cruise or two under our belts by now if we hadn't developed such a taste for balconies! Have a wonderful cruise and avoid those balcony temptations for as long as you can. ;)

as much as I enjoyed having our balcony in June, I would not be opposed to staying in an OV again. either one lets you see the sea, and the sunlight in when you want it.

and with the OV you can look outside, and not have to peer above/below the railing while trying to avoid the humidity! ;)

We loved our OV. We could let the sunlight in when we wanted and close the drapes when we didn't, making it completely dark for nap time. We were on a Conquest class ship and the OV room looked larger than the Interior room. We had a convertible sofa in our room, which was very nice for our son to sleep on. The window had a sort of window seat, which was very nice for putting our towels, and for looking out the window. We're going to be in an interior for our next cruise, so I'll definitely miss the OV.

For our 11th cruise, we are in a balcony cabin, but only because of the very attractive pricing. An inside, outside, anywhere on board is better than not on board and perfectly acceptable.

I would love an OV, but since I usually sail solo, all I can afford is an inside. I only did a cove balcony on the Dream transAtlantic because it was cheaper than the only inside, a spa cabin! EM

I'm probably out of the norm here (what else is new - lol), but if the balcony price is too high on a particular cruise, then I go with the inside cabin. I'm a very light sleeper and even with drapes closed, as soon as that crack of light peeks thru where the curtains meet....I'm up. If sunlight is going to wake me up early & I can sit out on my balcony for a bit, that's fine...otherwise, keep it dark for me.

I'm sure you will love your OV though. My husband thinks the balcony is a total waste of money. Never sits out on it & prefers to donate that $ to the casino.

We thoroughly enjoyed our OV cabin. We loved our balcony too, but we ended up sending too much time on our balcony and I feel we missed seeing and doing things on the ship.

That's what we noticed on our last cruise too (it was our first balcony). We usually participate in a lot more ship activities but this time we spent a lot of time in the room.

I have had insides with upper and lower berths(bunk beds), small cabins with small 10 inch portholes, balcony cabins, Aft wrap suites, Penthouse Suites and several outside cabins. I have fun no matter what. Depends on the ship and the budget. This year we spend 15 days in an ocean view on the Elation panama canal repositioning cruise. We had a great time. Spent much more time on lido deck then when we have a balcony. We do enjoy the fresh air when you have a balcony, But not a deal breaker.

We booked an OV for this upcoming cruise. At first, to save money, we were going to get an inside cabin, but then figured that the kids would like to look out a window.

The only reason I ended up with a balcony is that I checked the prices every day, and one day a balcony was almost the same price as my OV, and the OV dropped a lot. I didn't book ES so I couldn't get an OBC, so the nice rep at Carnival let me upgrade for free.
