Transfer from Orlando to Port Canaveral FL

Recommended Posts

We are spending the night before the cruise in a hotel near the Orlando airport. I am now trying to figure out the transfer to the ship.. RC could do the transport for $ 75 roundtrip per person (we are 5). I just do not want to spend so much. In one of the posts I saw the company Royal Shuttle mentioned....has anyone had experience with this company? Are there any other transport companies which you could recommend?

Thank you!

Since you're coming in the night before why don't you just rent a car? Even a large car/van for 5 would be cheaper than $75/person. Then you wouldn't be stuck at your hotel the night before.

I agree. We always rent a car when sailing out of PC. It is so easy. We usually use Coaoa Beach Shuttle for the return trip.

We will be landing around 9:30 pm with young kids... so, we would need to be able to easily and quickly get a rental car... we would then really arrive very late in Port Canaveral ... and most likely have to return the car before the hotel... so, I am not sure if this is a good option for us...

Rosie12345, I don't recommend a rental car that late at night. First, the rental car companies are not located at the airport; all of them are two to three miles from airport. You would have to get the kids on shuttle bus just to get to rental car area. Suggest you catch a hotel near the airport; take the hotel shuttle, then take one of the port canaveral shuttles the next day. Here are a few u can look at.

you could always take a cab which would be cheaper than that fare, or ask your hotel if they have a shuttle, some do... I'm from FLA and when I stay at a hotel, I've never had to pay to get PC.

Switch hotels, stay at the Hyatt at the airport, and use the RCCL shuttle service to and from the airport. Less travel involved, especially late in the evening.

depending on the car rental company, they have free shuttle service to the port. when dw and i went on the glory we flew in fri night, got a budget rent a car and stayed overnight in cocoa beach (right near the port) and in the am returned the car and they shuttled us free to the port. very easy.

Rent a car from either Budget or Avis (I prefer Budget). They are both located in the airport and have shuttles that once you return the car, they offer free shuttle service to/from the port.

You can get discount codes from http://www.mousesavers.com

Personally I would not use RCCL transfer since you cannot dictate your arrival time at the port.

If you choose not to rent a car, Travelynx is a great shuttle to use. We live near Orlando and have used them several times to go to the port and back. The website is:

I am also enclosing a thread from Cruise Critic that has tons of info about Pt Canaveral. You may decide you want to stay in Pt Canaveral instead of Orlando, but anyway, there is a lot of info. Enjoy!

WE are using Travelynx also. $145 for a small bus that can hold up to 14 people. Thats one way but still a lot cheaper than using Royal. We will be using Travelynx also when we return from our cruise to go to The Florida Hotel
