This was our third cruise with RCCL first was the Majesty second was the Voyager. We were very dissapointed with this ship. Our group consisted of 22, ages ranged from 15-65. Unfortunatly there was not much for the teenagers to do at night, pools closed except for the one adult only, rock climbing wall was open very rarely, only one day I know of and that was while it was in port. Staff at adventure ocean was not very nice, 4 of our kids asked if they could play the foosball and were told no because they were to old to go in that room. The room was empty! We had a total of nine cabins, out of the nine only 2 of the room stewards were friendly, thankfully the 2 rooms of teenagers had a wonderful steward!

The casino closed at midnight 2 of the 5 nights people were not happy about that when they were asked to leave, I think it was because there was'nt much table action.

Dining room staff was great! Bartender was slow and hard to get to your table. Food was okay but we all agreed better on the Majesty! Windjammer basically same as other ships you can always find something to eat!

The shows at night where great,but not alot of night life on this ship except for Viking lounge. This is not a ship I would recommend bringing your teenagers, younger children yes. For a short cruise I would definatly pick the Majesty again.

Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the Enchantment. Most people on these boards have nothing but rave reviews for her so I'm sort of shocked to hear all the negative things you had to say. I'm on her March 5th to 10th and will hopefully have a better time than your group did. This will be my first RCI cruise though so I only have a Carnival cruise to compare it to.

I am going on the Enchantment Feb. 28th thru March 5th and I hope that we have a better time then your group. It is our honeymoon.

 

Sorry to hear you had a bad time.

 

I have been on the Majesty and had a blast. We had problems with our room and the smell of sewer but other than that we had a good time.

Sorry to hear about your less than expected vacation. We got off her on January 27 and had a different experience. Casino never seemed to close. Rock wall was open much more often, especially at sea days. I hope your dinner bar tender wasn't The Booze Man, because he was great on our trip. I didn't see many teenagers and didn't have our son with us, so I can not compare on our trip. Hope your next cruise is much more enjoyable.

I am considering a cruise on the Enchantment right now. I also agree that most of what I have read and heard about this ship has been stellar. My brother cruised on this ship and he had nothing but great things to say about it.

 

I do understand about hitting a cruise on one of those off weeks. My very first cruise was anything but what I expected. But, I decided to give it another try and things have been great on all six of my other cruises.

Enchantment is my favorite ship!! I've cruised her 3 times and I just booked my fourth cruise on Enchantment for this summer. (I've also cruised Serenade, Majesty and Carnival Pride).

 

Sorry you did not enjoy yourself!! Like some of the previous posters said... maybe you just hit an off week.

 

I've always had a wonderful time on Enchantment. Always a good number of kids and teens on the ship who always looked like they were enjoying themselves. I would recommend Enchantment to anyone. Would you consider giving her another chance??

Hey slimshell - I'll be on Enchantment on the 2/28 sailing as well! Congrats on your honeymoon and I hope its not an "off week"! I've heard so many great things, especially on this board, so I"m crossing my fingers.

Cruisin Babe - I am sailing Enchantment July 31 also. Did you join my roll call. Did you sign up for the meet and mingle. I would love to keep in touch with you until we sail. I am going to be traveling with my sons aged 20 and 15. I hope they will have a nice time on this ship. After the refurbishment there should be a few more things for kids to do.

My husband and I will be sailing on the enchantment this Saturday too, 2/19. I have two teenaged kids- a 16 year old daughter and a just turning 14 year old son. I am sure there will be lots of kids on the Enchantment this week due to the school vacations in NY.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience on the Enchantment as well. My husband and I are sailing on her in a week 2/24-2/28. We can't wait, it's our first time away alone since our two children were born, 3 1/2 and 20 months. Looking forward to some peace!

What cabin were you in with this 'sewer' smell??? YUCK!
