How many hours to tour?

We'd like to book a cab and ride around the island, get out for photo ops, and spend an hour or so at a beach. Not sure what we are talking about in terms of time. Not much of a shopper, but might want to look at some local crafts. Anyone spent the day like this?

We rented a jeep and did just this. I checked out some places/areas were wanted to see before hand so we had some ideas in mind before we went and then we drove around and visited different parts of the island. The opposite side of the island has beautiful beaches. The waves were much stronger and I didn't see anyone swimming, so I don't know how it is for swimming, but it was really nice to walk along.

Its a very easy island to drive around. Not sure of how long it would take. Depends on how much time you spend at each stop. We went to 3 different beaches and they were all very different from each other and spent about an hour at each, then went shopping for a bit downtown.
