pugsbest Posted February 10, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2005 I have heard that the Concierge can gt you early tender tickets. Does anyone know how early? Like first tenders off or first tenders after cruise excursions go? We are booked in a penthouse on the Wind in August and would like to do the Fairwinds snorkel trip, but can only do it if we get off the ship relatively quickly. I would appreciate hearing from anyone with experience. Thanks! Julie
cruise mouse Posted February 10, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2005 On the Dawn we were in a penthouse and received a VIP ticket the night before tendering. This allowed us to use any tender. We were on a boat excursion at the one tender port so we got off on the first tender with the excursion.
newmexicoNita Posted February 11, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 11, 2005 If you have concierge service with your class of cabin, yes, he/she will get you tendered on the first tender as well as earlly debarkation if you desire. The concierge does so many special things that in themselves don't seem like all that much, but added up amount to a whole lot of perks!!!!!!!!! wonderwoman451 Posted February 13, 2005 #5 Share Posted February 13, 2005 We were on the dawn in May and had a BA balcony cabin. In the newsletter, they tell you how to get your tender tickets. You have to go to the shore excursion desk early that morning and pick up a ticket (they are all numbered) and wait for your number to be called in order to get on to the tenders. My bf and I were 2nd on line and had numbers 5&6 (the man in front of us had 4 in his family). Early bird gets the worm..thats all I have to say. By having such low numbers, and sitting at the front of the tender, we were literally, the first people off the boat. This proved to be important on Great Stirrup Cay. salty dingo Posted February 13, 2005 #6 Share Posted February 13, 2005 This is my recent experience on Majesty: you get early tender tickets sent to your room the night before, and can use them at any time. If you want to be on the first tender, the concierge will tell you where and when to meet her. She stays in touch with the gangway and when they are ready, she escorts you down. In our case, the stairwell was full of passengers in line for the tender, but she navigated to the bottom of the stairs and pointed us toward the door. We were not the first ones on the tender, but we easily made the first tender.
Montreid Posted February 13, 2005 #7 Share Posted February 13, 2005 The Star in Mex Riviera tendered on two ports. They offered the day prior and was quite low demand on early on where they opened up the tenders to everyone during the first 2 hours. In Cabos, the port had additional tenders to help out in addition to the ship's tenders.
MandyGirl Posted February 13, 2005 #8 Share Posted February 13, 2005 Yes - the concierge is great in getting you on the tender if you have a suite. On our wedding day (while on a cruise), our concierge made sure our group of 19 was most definitely on the first tender... and also the first off since we were going through immigration in St John (tender from the Norway to St John... bypassing St Thomas). He knew that we really didn't want to be late for our own wedding! :) We are forever grateful to him for his help that cruise. Awesome, then we shouldn't have any problems making our excursion as long as the ship arrives in Kona on time. Thanks for all the great info! newmexicoNita Posted February 14, 2005 #10 Share Posted February 14, 2005 Pugsbest, same thing happened to us last November. We were told where to meet our concierge. He escorted us off the ship and to the baggage area where our baggage was set completely apart from all other passengers.
