ArtM Posted August 6, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2010 I have searched through my HAL documentation and have not seen anything with regard to "suggested" amounts to tip the tour director and driver(s). A search of this board has turned up nothing for this year. We routinely meet and exceed the guidelines when the service merits it, but it is helpful to know ahead of time for cash flow planning, etc. Thanks. Art The recommended amount we were told was 4-5 dollars per day. Ours definitely earned more. Jennifer was fantastic (ms Volendam)
negc Posted August 6, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 6, 2010 Not sure what guidelines HAL has established for tipping the tour director and driver, but RCI suggests the following amounts on its land tours: Tour director- $3.50 per person, per day; motor coach driver- $2.50 pp/pd; rail host- $1.00 per person, per rail leg. Our experience on our June cruisetour was very favorable and all personnel involved were well worth the suggested tips and more.:)
