tbmrt Posted August 7, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 7, 2010 We've done the cave tubing/zip line thing in Belize and would like to do some snorkeling/beach this time around. We'll be in Belize from 7 - 5PM and will need to tender from NCL's Sun unless we take a snorkeling tour from the ship which is rather expensive and short. Can we book a snorkel and/or Bannister Island tour when we arrive at the port? Hate the worry about booking a private excursion and possibly encountering tender delays. bakerintn Posted August 7, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 7, 2010 When you arrive on shore, you will see lots of excursion vendors...I think it would be best to research some online so that you know specifically what you want and have one or two companies in mind before you step ashore in to that madness. You should still try for an early tender.
JerseyGem Posted August 7, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 7, 2010 Yes, there are several private companies that are located along the secure dock area in Belize. However, if there will be several other cruiseships there, the dock area can quickly be over-crowded (especially since each ship needs to rope off it's own tender area). The private companies want to fill each of their boats, so you may have to wait (although that should be a shorter wait with lots of tourists). Also, make sure the boat's crew understand when YOU need to get back (for your last tender to your ship), since each ship could be different. DH & I have decided to book the ship's excursion for our visit in October because we don't want to deal with the crowds at the port. If we were the only ship there, we'd wait to find something at the dock. Belize is a great place to snorkel- great reefs!
