Day in Rome

We will be in Rome this September on the Regent Mariner. We have been to Rome and have seen the sights and would just like to stroll around an area, perhaps shop, have a nice lunch where we can people watch, without pressure. Any suggested itineraries? Places for lunch?

Thanks for your help!

What kind of shopping are you interested in? You can hit the Via Condotti area for the designer shops, or Via Tritone for department stores, or Via ****onale for more moderate priced shops ... etc. You can check out the market in Campo dei Fiori in the morning.

Are there any sites you haven't seen? Have you been to Castel Sant'Angleo? Lots of tourists miss this gem.

Late September is a great time to be in Rome, still warm but not beastly hot; still lots of people around but not the crushing crowds of summer. Both houses of Parliament should be in session, so there will be lots of political action.
