Anyone with experience embarking at another port other than port of departure?

We are planning on joining Summit in Bermuda and heading down with her to SJ, and then BTB on her for another week.

When we booked, we spoke with AirSeaGFO and they informed us that we could embark in Bermuda, we would just need to email and request special permission, which we have done.

Anyone have any specific experiences doing this? We are wondering how we check in, or whether we should or shouldnt check in for the cruise.

Also, how the process looks like when we arrive to port, as I am not sure how we will be checked in to the port area- ie- most ports check your seapass card and photo id prior to entry.

Any suggestions/insights would be great!
