Kamloops50 Posted August 19, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2010 Has anyone gone by cruise ship from Tahiti to Hawaii or reverse? What kind of seas can you expect when at sea? We are looking at Jan/Feb 2012 on the Ocean Princess. 5 sea days on the cruise (YEAH)
CSloan Posted August 20, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 20, 2010 I'm curious about this, too. We'll be doing Tahiti to Hawaii in November. Is it warm on the sea days between Tahiti and Hawaii?
Toto2Kansas Posted August 20, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 20, 2010 We have sailed Hawaii to Tahiti or the reverse four times so far. It's always warm from Hawaii to Tahiti, sometimes a bit of rain, but always warm (sailing near the equator will always be warm) ;). The conditions of the sea can vary from day to day, and there is no way to predict if you will have rough or calm seas for this sailing. We have sailed this itineary always in October & January/February. One cruise was fairly calm, another calm to rough...........even during the same time frame in different years. But it's a great cruise. We are sailing it again this February!

runnerodb83 Posted August 21, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 21, 2010 Does it get "old" being on the same small ship during the sea days?
Toto2Kansas Posted August 21, 2010 #6 Share Posted August 21, 2010 Does it get "old" being on the same small ship during the sea days? Not for me it doesn't get old. But we always book at least a balcony so we have a little 'private space' to enjoy sea days away from the crowd. ;)
Rare Keith1010 Posted August 22, 2010 #7 Share Posted August 22, 2010 The sea days are always enjoyable as there is a lot to do on the ship while at sea. In terms of the sea conditions, as mentioned they do vary by day and by voyage. I always prepare for poor sea condtions but hope for the best. By that I mean we try to get a cabin mid deck and we bring some items to deal with potential sea sickness. It will be a great cruise. Enjoy!
