cruznluvr3 Posted August 26, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2010 Has any one that sailed on the Oasis taken the excursion to the Discover Atlantis in Nassau Bahamas ? The brochure gives the Allure arrival time as 7am and it departs at 1pm. That does not seen like enough time to enjoy it taking into account the number of people on such a large ship could mean long disembark lines and long waiting lines once there. ULCajunCruiser Posted August 26, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 26, 2010 I'll chip in my 2 cents worth. Its not enough time to do everything, or even most things. Atlantis is huge, with lots of people all trying to do the same thing you're doing at the same time. Was there in July from 8:00 to 3:00, slid on some of the slides (Aquaventure), went into a pool or 2, walked down to the beach, visited The Dig. Then rushed back. Now if you pick out a thing you'd like to do, like only see The Dig, or only visit the beach, then its doable. Don't get me wrong, its a beautiful place, a must visit IMHO. But don't expect to see and do a whole lot in 5 hours (if you even have that)
thomarvin Posted August 26, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 26, 2010 Are you planning on doing the slides and such or do you just want to look around? We were in Nassau last year. We took a cab ($4pp)to Cabbage beach (FREE) then walked around Atlantis. We went into the Dig but it was after hours so we didnt have to pay. To use all Atlantis facilities it is expensive and to me not worth it especially if you are only there a few hours. It is a beautiful place. I truly enjoyed just walking around. To visit Atlantis from Cabbage beach, come out of the beach and just walk right. Very short walk. Enter the hotel (dont remember the name, but nice circular driveway out front) and just follow the signs to the casino. They are all connected. cb at sea Posted August 26, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 26, 2010 If you went to a water park in the States, you probably could do it alot cheaper than at Atlantis. It's true that you can shop in the stores, gamble in the casino and eat in the restaurants without paying any fee.... and if you want to swim, the ship's pool will be virtually EMPTY of other passengers while in port. IMO, not worth it.
cooncat Posted August 26, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 26, 2010 I was on the Oasis and found it much easier to depart this ship than any of the other ships in the fleet. They have multiple exits of the ship. I had no problems or lines or waits getting of the ship.
