Never been to St. Kitts- What to do?

OK, Help me out here. I just don't know what to do when I get to St. Kitts! My DH and I have never been there, but I would like to avoid the ship's tour, What would you suggest? I can book a tour on line, OR I can wait until I get there and go with someone at the pier?

Help me plan out my trip! Thanks!

Gabrielle

What sorts of things do you like to do? We did an island tour, which was fairly comprehensive. We saw Romney Manor, which is really beautiful, and where Caribelle Batik is located. We had a brief stop there for shopping, but I could have had more time to wander the grounds, as it is a wonderful spot. Our next stop was Brimstone Hall, which is a fort and affords fabulous views. There is a short video you can view which gives you a history of the island and the fort is quite large and you can explore to your heart's content. My hubby could have enjoyed more time here. We then made a stop at the Black Rocks, which are some volcanic lava rocks at the ocean's edge. A very photogenic stop. From there, we went on to the beach for about an hour or so. We had time when we returned to the pier to shop at the mall outside the terminal for a bit before returning to the ship. We used the services of Ilva Wallace for our tour and enjoyed her very much, but there were many drivers at the pier seeking passengers.

I'm a History buff BUT I love the water. I snorkel. My DH he just goes along for the ride. He doesn't mind history, but he doesn't like to snorkel, or swim.... He sinks so he gets wet and swims to get wet, but he likes but tours as he can sit back and enjoy what there is

When you mention that there are many drivers at the piers- are they just taxi drivers or are there tours? Like what you did? I'll have to check out Ilva Wallace- thanks!

Thank you so much for sharing you awesome pics with all of us. I hadn't really made up my mind on what to do in St Kitts but you pics helped me to decide. We will be going to Brimstone Hill Fortress and then just take in the sights of the island

Im headed back to St. Kitts in December for the second time, planning on booking The Marriott Day Pass for $40 thru the St. Kitts Tour Store(includes all transportation). St. Kitts is a small island I was there in Nov. of 2007 we had a group from the ship and went over to So. Frigate Bay which was so packed you literally couldnt move so we took a taxi over to the Marriott which was incredible, only way to go, its one of the nicest overall set-ups I've seen throughout the Caribbean.

Your gonna end up at So. Frigate or Cockelshell anyway if it were me I would spend the day at the Marriott you dont have to go anywhere hope that helps Todd
