maryann ns Posted September 13, 2010 #26 Share Posted September 13, 2010 Boy did you time that right. I'm glad you had a great time, and the cooler weather would have helped.
Cecethekittencat Posted September 14, 2010 #27 Share Posted September 14, 2010 Dear All: wow, I really appreciate the responses on this thread. We are definitely changing our cruise to Canada from 9/1 next year. And, there are two more nasty storms on the way! :(

Storms can crop up anywhere and affect almost all itineraries except maybe Europe. Just curious.

We are definitely changing our cruise to Canada from 9/1 next year. And, there are two more nasty storms on the way! :( What is happening this year may not even occur next year. Though there are certain times that storms occurance is higher, a weather depression can occur anytime throughout the year which can impact a cruise. Good weather is more a matter of luck than planning. PEAK STORM PERIODS Pacific Hurricane Season ... May 15th through November 30 Atlantic Hurricane Season .. June 1st trhough November 30 Mediterranean ...though it's rare that Hurricanes form in this body of water, storm depressions certainly do and the biggest season for such an occurance is August through January 31st. Host Caroline Posted September 15, 2010 #31 Share Posted September 15, 2010 It's just very unusual with this high pressure ridge that all of the storms are being swept north along the eastern seaboard (well out to sea from that area) instead of any going to Caribbean/Gulf of Mexico so far. This time of year you just never know so just have to be prepared not to be "surprised" if your itinerary changes. And know that there aren't going to be big refunds, big OBCs to compensate...
