I have been there. I did a tour with CasadoradoDR.com my group and I still talk about it to this day. Took a nice 30 minute taxi ride there and a 5 minute boat ride. Pristine, untouched beauty.

Did you take a taxi or go with the ship's excursion? Noordam price is $44pp. Not sure how easy it would be to get a taxi and I understand that the roads are not in the best shape.

Anyone done their own thing?

You can do it yourself, but the taxi driver will charge you around 40 bucks, probably. Cabs are easy to find. However, with that price, I would just do the ships tour. However, IMO, Casa Dorado is the way to go. Let us know what you end up doing.

I've sent in my deposit check with Casa Dorado. I'd like to hear other reviews on this.
