NY & New England - best weather, hurricanes???

When's the best time to do a cruise between NY and Sydney, Canada? 17 Sep, 24 Sep, 1 Oct, 8 Oct...?

If you were looking to see New England fall foliage, I would do the October 8 cruise; for any other reason, the New England weather can be beautiful in September and October weather the same but cooler with the chance of rain. JMHO

 

There is always a chance of a hurricane but that would not be a consideration when I booked. May sure to buy travel insurance.
