markincanada Posted September 8, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 8, 2010 Is it reasonable to hire a taxi for a big part of the day. My wife and I have a list of things we would like to do including some scenic touring but we dont want to go on a more organized tour. (This is one of our non tour days) on the cruise. How much would it cost per hour and is this a reasonable idea? Cheers

How much would it cost per hour and is this a reasonable idea? This IS a reasonable idea, many people do it. Lots of taxis waiting for you just OUTside the Port's gatehouse where the Police check vehicles check us in and out. The taxis INside the gatehouse tend to be Sharks: you've been warned. Can't help you with cost, sorry, but I think I've seen people say they paid about US$100 for the guy to drive them around, here and there. Don't quote me on that price: it's very approximate: search thru more of these Barbados threads and you'll come across various taxi costs. A lot depends on just who you engage, and on how good a bargainer you are ;) .
