Jets1234 Posted September 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2010 Was thinking about cutting some corners on the cruise and bringing a blender on board to save on the pina colada's and other mixed drinks is it possible to sneak something like that on in your checked luggage?? afcj1 Posted September 12, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 12, 2010 Sorry...they've gotten a lot tougher on personal/household items. Unfortunately, small appliances are definitely on the forbidden list.
CruiserinCarlsbad Posted September 12, 2010 #5 Share Posted September 12, 2010 We have a small battery operated one which isn't a problem. You can try that as an option. The cruise line doesn't want you bringing items that have a plug.
lillian marie Posted September 12, 2010 #6 Share Posted September 12, 2010 I'd leave the blender at home, also the battery powered ones do not crush ice well, I have one for camping. CCL is getting far more restrictive on what you may bring on board. Read your cruise contract and CCL regulations.

No, forget pina coladas. If you want to smuggle drink rum and coke or something that is not frozen. Pina coladas are way too much trouble! So is any other drink that requires a blender! CCL is getting far more restrictive on what you may bring on board. Read your cruise contract and CCL regulations. The ice on the lido deck is already crushed. All the blender has to do is just mix it.
DukeFamily Posted September 12, 2010 #9 Share Posted September 12, 2010 What a pain in the butt THAT would be just to save a few bucks! Running to the room to make your drink. Then you've got blender parts & cups, etc., to keep washed. Ick. Get a part time job in the mean time to save up so you won't have to "cut corners". bobnsons Posted September 12, 2010 #10 Share Posted September 12, 2010 Here we go, should be some good replys to this one. Right off hand I'm thinkin someone should combine a coffee maker and blender in one combo unit. Get that Sullivan guy to hawk it on the tube. :D
Relayer Posted September 12, 2010 #11 Share Posted September 12, 2010 Absolutely! Just have the porter bring it on with your iron, espresso machine, dog, bicycle, scooter and washer/dryer. :p
TEXAZJEWL Posted September 12, 2010 #12 Share Posted September 12, 2010 I wouldn't recommend it, just not worth it to me, personally. But, I have some friends who take one of those "Magic bullet" thingys. It's much smaller & works for them i guess. The frozen drinks & "foo-foo" drinks are some of the cheaper ones at the bar. I would recommend spending your bar-budget on those & save any smuggling for the hard stuff, which is quite expensive at the bar. Not that I recommend smuggling !!!! But, if you smuggle something, I'd go for the hard stuff. Besides, who wants to work that hard on vacation for a drink!
