Rhodes, DIY, snorkle and/or Lindos

Well, the best beaches are several miles outside of town, but are easily accessed by simply grabbing a local bus from Rhodes Town. Probably the most popular (for good reason) is Faliraki which is about 10 miles outside of town. This beach has some facilities and is nice and sandy.

Lindos is just magical . Walking only in old town area, cars and bikes parked on outer. Huge Acropolis like structure there overlooking the Aegean .

The Alsitair Maclean wartime thriller THE GUNS OF NAVARONE was filmed in Lindos and Rhodes town .

How do I get to Lindos? Is it easily accessible from where our ship docks?

Can I do the old town, with the castle/walls, then the beach and then Lindos? We are there 10am to 6pm.

Lindos is a fair distance from Rhodes. There is a local bus -- if you do a search here, someone posted details on how to take it there and back. However, if you do this, you likely won't have time for more than a quick walk around Rhodes itself. You can take a cab but will be on the expensive side due to the distance.

Kuldalai, it's not an "acropolis-like structure" it IS an acropolis. Acropolis is just a general term for a citadel or elevated part of an ancient Greek city.
