4 yr old going with us to the bahamas.

We are taking our 4 year old son on a 4 day Bahamas cruise in November. Can anyone suggest good family friendly activities to do while in port? We did the same cruise in 07 but kid-free.

Beaches? I can't imagine much that a 4 year old would be interested in!

How Lucky he is! He will have fun no matter what you do, just playing in the sand, and walking in the waves. If you have time, take him to a pool and teach him to snorkel. You will open up a whole new world to him.

I took my Granson's to the dolphin encounter and the sea lion encounter and they loved both, I am not sure if there is any age restriction.

This is my second attempt at posting, so if the information shows up twice the internet had a hiccup. If you are porting in Nassau, the Ardastra garden and zoo might be a good choice for a 4 year old. It is a good size for small children; not so large the child wants carried for a half day, and not so small the tour is over in 15 minutes. If you are feeling adventurous, the jitney buses are a fun and frugal means of transportation from port to zoo. I think it cost $1.70 for 3 of us for a one way ride.

We are thinking about taking our 17 month old to the zoo while in Nassau. Ardastra gardens, zoo & conservation center http://www.ardastra.com Or to Blue Lagoon Island http://www.bahamasbluelagoon.com because of it's shallow and calm water. I have never been to these places so I can't give personal opinion; these are just places people have suggested and we are considering. I'm sure whatever you decide you will enjoy it!
