I suppose you could take your order to go but they would still charge you the service charge. It looked like a nice place - you might enjoy dining in. JMO. :)

There is a service charge to dine there even though the food is priced a la carte?

No, there is no service charge, just the entree/sushi a la carte charges. They do add the standard 15% gratuity to the food since it is a la carte and not service charged. Most sushi combos or hot entrees go for around $10. Starters other than miso soup or edamame are also additional, generally $2-5 per choice. Dessert is also extra, same price as starters.

I am wondering the same thing, would love to take some sushi back to our room and enjoy it on the balcony.
