Logan Airport to Cruise Terminal

We are staying at the Comfort Inn at the Logan Airport the night before the 10/2 cruise on the Jewel of the Seas. How much time should I allow to get from the airport using the Silver Line and the SL2 to the cruise terminal?

Well, first of all, you should check if the Comfort Inn shuttle will take you directly to the cruise port. It's only 5-10 minutes further than the airport if they go directly. (That, or you should maybe look for a hotel that will shuttle to the cruise port as well as the airport.) The biggest reason they may not do it is that the toll for the tunnel between the airport and the cruise port is confiscatory ($3.50 for cars, $5.25 for cabs and vans)

 

If your shuttle driver won't do that, then make sure you get dropped off at Terminal E, the last stop in the airport, and catch the Silver Line bus there. (There's a ticket machine just inside the terminal.) The bus will probably take about ten minutes to Silver Line Way and then the other bus will take about 5-10 minutes to the cruise terminal. Figure a total of 15 minutes on the bus and another 15 waiting, makes about half an hour.

 

Or, of course... just get a cab from the hotel. It probably won't run much more than $20 (including the tunnel toll).

Thank you for the tip about stopping at Terminal E to catch the Silver Line and how long to allow to get to the port.

The Comfort Inn is in Revere, so the taxi fare to the pier would probably be in the $35 range including the tunnel toll. Getting on at the last stop at Terminal E is a good suggestion, but .... it is the last stop at Logan so you do run the risk that the bus will be full and you will be standing. My guess is that the bus gets full only when the airport is really busy with inbound flights, so if it is calm Terminal E is probably just fine. If you can't buy your ticket from the machine, check with the bus driver about the transfer before you just hop off at Silver Line Way. You can always go 1 stop further to World Trade Center for a free transfer up the escalator and down the elevator to the other side.
