hotel in mestre to cruise ship dock

how easy is it to get from a hotel in Mestre to the dock for large cruise ships" Can I take a cab or bus from Mestre to the dock? We don't want to luggage over bridges etc, Thanks, Retina 60

A bus would be a two-stage process, one bus to Piazzale Roma, then either switch to another bus or take the People Mover.

 

Spend the money on a cab, it will be a lot easier and so worth it.

I agree that you should take a taxi BUT I'd never choose to stay in Mestre over Venice itself for a hotel!!

I agree with this statement. The first time I went to Venice I stayed in Mestre and would never do it again. It takes a lot of time to get from Mestre to vgenice. The second time we went to venice we stayed in Venice just off San Marco square. It was wonderful and worth every extra penny.

It depends where your hotel is. If it's near train station then train is the fastest (5 min) otherwise lots of buses go from Mestre to P.Roma. (i.e. #2,3,4, etc)
