nsj Posted October 25, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 25, 2010 Is it true you can only get the bar setup on NCL if your in a large group and the entire group agrees to do the bar setup.
jp2001 Posted October 25, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 25, 2010 You are mixing two different things. Anyone can order a bar setup but it must be done prior to the cruise. A bar setup is one or many bottles of liquor that you buy for in-room consumption. The groups can buy different packages (some for beer and wine, some including most alcohols, served from any bar on the ship) but then, yes, all adults of the group have to participate in this. nsj Posted October 25, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted October 25, 2010 Great. The NCL Bon Voyage Gifts page has no mention of liquor except for Wine. I've sent them an email, will see what they say.
dexddd Posted October 25, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 25, 2010 One other thing from our experience and what others have said, you can't get a bar setup on the Pride of America.

Here's a recent thread that discusses the bar set-up, with details on how to place your order, available liquors and pricing. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1288314
DMH15 Posted October 25, 2010 #6 Share Posted October 25, 2010 It is not done through that channel. You email the ship... someone will post the email address for you... it escapes me right now. Last year on the Sun I had a liter bottle of Absolut. It was $83 and worth it.
nsj Posted October 26, 2010 Author #7 Share Posted October 26, 2010 Thanks everyone. I received an email with the price list -- prices start at $63 per bottle. Are you able to take the drink you make out of your cabin or only consume in the cabin. Just checking.

They are located in Miami not on the ships...

Of course you may bring a drink elsewhere on the ship, but I don't think you're supposed to bring the entire bottle :)
