cruisehappye2a Posted October 25, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 25, 2010 We are wanting to go on a cruise with our 18 month old. We aren't real fans of disney (went to WDW and hated it). Which line would be the most accomodating for little ones?
Mack2 Posted October 25, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 25, 2010 Royal Caribbean has a nice toddler program. http://www.royalcaribbean.com/ourCompany/pressCenter/pressReleases/info.do?prDate=03-09-2009&prCode=A Miami - March 09, 2009 - Royal Caribbean International today announced new fleetwide programming for cruise vacationers, expanding services and activities that cater to families with children as young as six months old. The new program includes enhancements to Royal Caribbean's award-winning Adventure Ocean youth program, which will help families traveling with children enjoy a fulfilling and stress-free vacation.... ... ... New programs for Royal Babies (ages 6 - 18 months) and Royal Tots (ages 18 - 36 months) will provide a wider breadth of activities and services to guests sailing with young children, adding to the already popular Fisher-Price playgroup program. Parents traveling with infants and toddlers can now pack lighter for their cruise with Royal Caribbean's Babies 2 Go program, where parents can order organic baby food and diapers, wipes and creams by Huggies - the world's leading diaper brand - for delivery to their staterooms upon their arrival. The newer ships (Explorer-Class, Freedom-Class, Oasis-Class) are really wonderful. The Royal Promenade area aboard the Explorer and Freedom-Class vessels is akin to a shopping mall. A few minutes walking up and down in a stroller used to konk my kid out. They're visually stimulating enough for them to sit there in the stroller staring up at the surroundings, until they nod off. Additionally, milk was extremely easy to acquire at the Promenade Cafe. Some lines, we found it was hard finding milk on Princess... not all the bars could spare a little carton. While Carnival had cartons of milk up at the buffet all the time... or you just had to ask one of the pizza guys.

Julienatul Posted October 27, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 27, 2010 RCCL or Carnival or NCL are all family friendly. I would research them all and pick the one that best fits your family..ie price, itinerary etc. We have been sailing with both my kids since they were 7mo. They both love cruising as much as we do. My youngest will be 2 in December and will be going on his 5th cruise.
rolloman Posted October 28, 2010 #5 Share Posted October 28, 2010 For this age toddler, try the NCL Epic, you wont be disappointed, RCCL Oasis and Allure or if you are booking after March, the newly upgraded RCCL Freedom or Liberty...once you step outside of these 5 ships the drop off level goes from a 10 to about a 5.
