mexico5 Posted October 27, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 27, 2010 Hi, starting to put my clothes together for our first cruise on HAL and have this one question... For "smart casual" it lists pants as alright for women...do they have to be dress pants or can they also be capri's (linen, etc...) along with a nice top? I wore this all the time on Princess and NCL for non formal nights inthe MDR. Thanks!

SwissMyst Posted October 27, 2010 #3 Share Posted October 27, 2010 Smart casual to me means a kind of pulled-together "outfit" so with a nice top, dressier casual shoes and accessories it can all work to look just right. Casual would be flip flops, mismatching plain tee shirt and "capris". Smart casual capris would be as you described with a nice top, etc. (All of which is as subjective as food tastes and PG descriptions ;))
Krazy Kruizers Posted October 27, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 27, 2010 You will be fine with capri's -- saw a lot of them on our recent Ryndam cruises.
slimknyzer Posted October 27, 2010 #5 Share Posted October 27, 2010 Thanks folks! We leave Friday on Statendam and my bride has been debating whether capris are O.K. for dinner. She will be happy to hear about your comments.
mexico5 Posted October 27, 2010 Author #6 Share Posted October 27, 2010 Thanks! Seems like the only time I get to wear my capri's is when we vacation throughout the year...it's always too cold here!
