FLL - How do you know if taxi driver is taking the long way?

Having never left from Port Everglades, how do you know if your taxi driver is taking the long way from the airport to the cruise port or vice-versa ?

The airport and the cruise port are not but about 10 minutes apart.......

 

Believe me they want to dump you out ASAP and pick up another fare, so I wouldn't worry about it at all......

Like GTO Girl says, not much to worry about. You can even see the ships from some locations in the airport.

 

In the cab, the meter will have a $2 fee appear on the right side... this is an airport related fee. On the left side will appear your total fare, which includes the $2.

 

The fare will be in the $15-20 range depending on how the traffic line is getting thru port security.
