Chairsin Posted November 15, 2010 #26 Share Posted November 15, 2010 My understanding is that guarantee suites are usually more available closer to the sail date as Seaborn is doing a final shuffle of suite based on cancellations, etc.

Hold onto your seats - from £1199 ( ~$1800?). WOW!
ITravelNow Posted November 17, 2010 #28 Share Posted November 17, 2010 My agent told me they only book guarantees when the category is sold out...however I'm not sure how that differs from a waitlist.

Certainly not so in the UK in my experience. I booked my last Sojourn cruise well in advance and I was offered a choice of nominating a suite ( from the availability list) or a guarantee. Both at the same price. The nominated suites were not well positioned so I opted for a guarantee. We were up graded to a V6 in a very good position. You pays your money and you takes.......! Chairsin Posted November 17, 2010 #30 Share Posted November 17, 2010 Well that of course is the trade off you have to consider. We have booked guarantee's twice( because we were late in booking) and each time benefited from a very nice upgrade. But I certainly would not count on that -- I just tell my travel agent to ask Seabourn if at all possible to give us a suite with a bathtub. Chairsin Posted January 4, 2011 #32 Share Posted January 4, 2011 Well it could be that you did not get upgraded because the ship is full.
