Boatswain Beach Marine Park?

We went out to the Boatswain Beach Turtle farm this October at the beginning of our Panama Canal Cruise.

We used the public bus, which is really a van, for $2.50 a person each way.

This was very easy and when we were done it was easy to catch one back.

When they dropped us off they told us where to catch it back.

We just wanted to see the Turtle part of it as the Lagoon etc. was a separate section. They said we could check it out, and if we wanted to add it on to come back and they would do that easily. We chose to just do the turtles.

They were incredible. All sizes and a petting type pond to pick them up. This part was $18 each and the whole park entry was $45 each.

Across the street was a dolphin encounter. There was no charge to go in and look, but to swim with them there was an extra charge.

This has become such a great park from when we visited years ago before a hurricane wiped it out. They have rebuilt something truly beautiful!

Thanks for the information. We have taken the island tour so have been to all the tourist attractions. I was wondering if this place was interesting.

Where did you get the van? Did they give you a wrist band to show just for the turtles?

You want the Yellow (Route 1) which goes West Bay/Seven Mile Beach.

We crossed main street in front of pier and walked left, right if you face the ocean. It was off this street, but according to this site it changed back to where it was before this point. Here is the thread.

It was run pretty losely. We just asked and people told us which van to go on, and being the cautious person I am, I asked a couple times just to clarify the price. If it is over $2.50 American, then you are not on a public bus/van.

Once at Boatswain, they did give us a wrist band to clarify which part of the park we could go into for the ticket we purchased.

We went to Boatswain's last year, booked through their site. We loved snorkeling in the "lagoon", where you can swim right up to the glass partition between you and the sharks! There are hundreds of big, colorful fish in the lagoon, and even a few small turtles. The only thing I didn't like was the bits of algae floating around in the lagoon. But that wasn't enough to stop me from doing this again. It was fascinating to watch the sharks "from their level". Also, when you book online, they provide free transportation (a bus). Or at least they did last year.
