We have not done this in Kona, but I was reading somewhere Maybe the revealed book? And it said that in Hawaii that it is up to the Captain of each boat whether or not you get to keep any of the catch. You may want to inquire up front if this is of concern to you. We Fished in Alaska and were able to have our catch cleaned flash frozen and shipped home. In Costa Rica, caught a Sailfish but it was all catch and release. Always good to have the full story to avoid disappointment!
