Cruising from Quebec

We cruised from Quebec City 9/27. We flew in on Continental from Newark. Usually the equipment used for this flight is the small Jazz planes others have mentioned. Our flight was on the day of the cruise, and I suppose the demand for this flight was very high. Consequently, Continental canceled the flight and "rescheduled" us for a flight an hour or so later, using a 737. Luggage was no problem (we had four suitcases, two roll-aboards and a manual wheelchair).

In addition, the Princess transfer from YQB to the ship was priced at only $24 each... which made it just about a wash versus a taxi.

Shalom, Andy.

Thanks for all the replies. I have visited Quebec many times and even speak a passable Quebecois, although invariably the reply is in English! I guess my accent gives me away. :)

Given the comments about the size of the aircraft serving Quebec, it sounds like Montreal offers more options, especially considering that my better half's idea of packing light is to only empty one closet, not both.

More options - yes... as in car/bus/train, but if one of those options is air, think turboprop. All flights out of YUL & YOW shud be DH8-300's. Out of YYZ, EWR, DTW and BOS - RJ's or ERJ's except for Westjet from YYZ - B737. Porter from YTZ - Q400's. I'm sure you know your aircraft so think about that luggage thing. :)

Some airlines are increasing the size of aircraft during cruise season.
