Formal Dressing on Veendam

HAL's formal nights aren't "formal" in the true sense of the word. They are, however, quite "dress up", if you follow the dress code for the evening.

The code for men allows a tux/dinner jacket, or a dark suit, or a minimum of sport jacket and tie.

Women dress to code in a gown, or a cocktail dress (pants equivalent also meets the code). Think in terms of "holiday wear". Women frequently can be seen in black pants or skirt, with a beaded or sparkly top.

Right on Ruth! That is HAL Formal for all the ships. If you own a tux, bring it but suits and jackets will do. For women, it is easy to have a flowing black skirt and alternate with dressy tops. So easy! I think it is fun to dress up like that to dine in those beautiful HAL dining rooms.
