Eastern vs. Western Caribbean with kids

My husband and I are trying to decide on a cruise for 2006. We have both been to the Western Caribbean (and my kids have, as well) and think it's very good for little ones.

I have actually been to the Western Caribbean several times but never to Eastern and I think I would enjoy a change of scenery. I've read more than once, though, that the Eastern Caribbean doesn't have as much to offer for kids. I can't imagine why, but I just don't want them to be bored. I would really appreciate any feedback.

Incidentally, they will be 3 and 9 when we sail, both girls.

Thanks!

Have taken my kids on both Eastern and Western. Western appears to be better for children. I would not miss stingray city in Cayman Islands as it is something the kids will always remember. There are also a number of other opportunities for water sports in the Westernand other things such as Turtle Farm. Eastern, although having some things for kids appears to be more shopping oriented.
