basor Posted November 27, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 27, 2010 We will be on the Regatta on the 10JAN 2011 on an at sea day on the way to the Bahamas....being from Oregon we are hoping to be able to watch the BCS championship game - do you think they will have it on and where??? Has anyone had experience with big sports events being broadcast on Oceania? Thanks
cruisecountess Posted November 27, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 27, 2010 We were on a Panama Canal cruise during the holidays last year. New Year's Day was an at sea day and the various bowl games were shown in the bar area that leads into the casino. Crowds gathered and it was fun for those who enjoy football. I don't know if the games could be accessed on the television in each cabin. Enjoy your cruise. Harriet
cruisecountess Posted November 28, 2010 #3 Share Posted November 28, 2010 Sorry, I've had a senior moment and have gotten my cruise lines confused:o We were on Azamara last Dec./Jan. for the holiday cruise. Perhaps Oceania does the same. Harriet
quivet c Posted November 29, 2010 #4 Share Posted November 29, 2010 If David Shermet is your cruise director ask him when you first get on board if they are able to show the game. He is a great guy and a huge sports fan. That said on our Holiday cruise a couple of years ago he was able to get the Rose Bowl feed for the guests in one of the lounges. Mura Posted November 29, 2010 #5 Share Posted November 29, 2010 A couple of years they taped the Super Bowl and broadcast it on the inhouse system ... No commercials, though!
