professor Posted November 30, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2010 I trust TripAdvisor and guide-book recommendations only to a point, and am looking for CruiseCritic recommendations for good hotels in Barcelona's Placa Catalunya neighborhood. By "good," I mean 4- and 5-star properties. Thanks!
chipmaster Posted November 30, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2010 I don't know why only "4" or "5" star but we stayed at the Hotel Olivia right on circle there and were very happy. Small lobby, great service and very neat modern rooms, couldn't have been more convenient. riffatsea Posted November 30, 2010 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2010 It's too expensive for me but the 1898 is supposed to be great!
NEW 2 CRUISIN Posted December 1, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 1, 2010 We're booked in the JAZZ HOTEL, which seems to get great ratings from all who have stayed there. Just off the main road and pretty nice, from the looks of it. Check out their website: http://www.hoteljazz.com/
GlendaleCruiser Posted December 1, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 1, 2010 It's too expensive for me but the 1898 is supposed to be great! It's a splurge for us, but we are staying at 1898 next May and I cannot wait.:D
KirkNC Posted December 1, 2010 #6 Share Posted December 1, 2010 We are too cheap for the 4-5 stars and tend to go 3 star. We stayed at the Hotel Inglaterra right across from Hotel Jazz, about two blocks from the Placa Catalunya. It was a nice hotel for about 2/3's of Hotel Jazz price. The Placa Catalunya is a great area to stay. Kirk
GlendaleCruiser Posted December 4, 2010 #7 Share Posted December 4, 2010 It's a splurge for us, but we are staying at 1898 next May and I cannot wait.:D It's still HALF:eek: the price of the Meridien, across the street.
