Here we go crusie in review........... this could take a while.

Day One: On good advice we started to board the ship at 1200 and we were on the ship by 1230 and eating by 1pm. the weather was overcast, tempriture was mild. after a great buffet lunch and a quick look around the ship. we joined a tour of the spa and massage area, pretty flash and expensive. the specials bring the price down a little and then not so over the top. Muster stations are all on deck 5 and you cruise card states what station you report to for the drill and in case of emergency. well organised and easy to follow. misssed sit down dinner due to wanting to see the sail away. buffet dinner was OK but I would not like to do it every evening. went to the welcome aboard show. Rhapsody of the seas singers performed, better than P&O but lacking in the vocal area. We still enjoyed the show. Kid in kids club for evening staff from canada, USA and Australia. kids were never that keen to go but once there they had a great time. kids spent time in the pool even though it was pretty cold. back to cabin. beds were two up and two down, no window as we wee inside. the beds were soooooooooooooo comfortable, Doona was great. pillow variable but there were plenty to choose from. room thermostat control actually worked fist time on any ship. if you plan to have a romantic shower, forget it on this ship unless you are both underweight and small people it could be difficlult for two people to get wet..... and to answer you question No we did not try it. room was very small, however we managed to store our empty bags under the bed and in the wardrobe.

Day two:

Just framed the offical cruise critic meet and greet photo, looks great on the wall, added a royal caribean logo at the bottom of the photo before framing. out of 39 who registered over half of them in the photo. some people registered their parners and kids who did not come and some people just did not want to be in the photo. All in all it was a great get together which ran well past the 1 hour that it was scheduled for. I was late due to a watch malfunction. thje watch lost 40 min overnight however I did make it for the photo and the free gift. Met up with bbonds, Decco, Rivergirl77, Samneal, big kev, and more. it was great to put names to the faces, oh yeah of cause not forgetting thepoet who is of cause my dear dad. had sit down lunch in the main dinning room today there was a salad bar, the chef would mix the salads with ingredients chosen by you. food fresh and tasty. dinning room huge with two levels. upstairs quieter than downstairs.

Day three: slept in today, well with no window how would you know what time it is or how the weather is. went to a lecture this morning, it was about the landscape of New Zealand and the features of north and south island more exploring of the ship and relaxing by the pool in the solarium. Had the hamburger from the solarium pool cafe. was very american, nothing like the aussie burgers we get at home, buns not toasted, onion not fried but it was better than the buffet that day. weather was cool and a little windy so spend a lot of time indoors. rockclimbing wall closed due to adverse weather. Today was bingo so we went to see, Bingo on the ROS was free fpr children to play. it is a little expensive at 32 USD a game, Oh yeah they picked my daugher to the draw the win a royal suit for the rest of the cruise . the couple who won were newly weds, hey You know that may have been yesterday. hard to keep up when you are on holidays.

Whaaaaaaat? NO AUSSIE BURGERS? They are the only ones worth eating, beetroot and all! I never could stand Macca's and I'm not a fussy eater. :)

Enjoying your review Livingstone. It's good to hear about the differences.

as I said this may take a while to get throught the 14 days of the cruise

Day four: we had to get up early as the ship was entering milford sound before 7am, it was quite cool but the sun was raising above the mountains, skys were clear and sea was calm with no wind. it was a perfect day in milford, we were told that days like this are a rare thing in this part of the world. . I have to say the 6 am start was a shock to the system...... but as it happens it was the way the rest of the cruise would go. early mornings and late nights. we lost day for the entire morning. it turns out he stayed indoors due to the cold weather . after milford sound i dropped in to the arcade for a spot of shopping, well the stock was very limited due to the container from miami not showing up. there was only one camera on the ship for sale, a couple of pair of ray ban sun glasses and the usual signiture item with each item low on stock. the purfumes for sale were cheaper in the local chemist back home in one case the mens edu toilet was double the price at home for the same item ( and no the one at home was not a fake)................ more to come!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Livingstone, and everyone else that was on the Rhapsody of the Seas! I have yet to review the cruise, but we enjoyed ourselves! I think we spent the majority of our time in the casino. We won about $1500!

We did purchase the Cruise in Review DVD on our last day on board. We got home only to find out that the DVD doesn't work. I've been in contact with the company and hope that will mail me a replacement DVD.

If anyone has any pictures to share from, "The Quest" please let me know! I'd love to see them.
